Oleksandra Radchenko

Overview

My current practice focuses on environmental ethics in the anthropocene age. The term ‘Anthropocene’ reflects the geologically transformative impact humankind has had and continues to have on the planet.

The bloated shapes on the canvas being translated from the organic micro biome, create their own connotation of meaning through their shape, colour and texture. They are allowed to exist on their own, being pure in their own means. These shapes exist without the past and history they become incommensurable forms that develop within the space they are situated in; similarly to steins of bacteria.

Oleksandra have established a practice-based research that combines the archival research of the current data on bacteriology and multiple forms of visualization; such as installation and painting.
